Justin Martin leads the firm's largest service line as BDO New Zealand's National Advisory Leader. Based in Wellington, he specialises in business advisory, financial performance, and strategic consulting, working with clients across New Zealand.
Justin helps businesses improve financial performance, strengthen governance, and make more informed strategic decisions. He partners with clients to translate financial data into practical, actionable insights, supporting financial planning and analysis, KPI development, board reporting, and long-term sustainability.
He has particular expertise in not-for-profit and retail sectors, advising boards and management teams on funding models, cost structures, and organisational performance. Justin also leads virtual CFO services across New Zealand, providing both day-to-day financial leadership and strategic advisory support to multiple sectors and charitable organisations.
Alongside his client work, Justin serves as a Board Member of Barnardos Aotearoa, New Zealand’s largest children’s charity, contributing to financial governance and strategic oversight.
Justin is a regular presenter on financial literacy, performance management, and governance, helping business owners, trustees, and executives build confidence in using financial information to drive better outcomes.
