James McNeil joined BDO as a graduate in 2014 after completing his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Victoria University of Wellington. With a Chartered Accountancy under his belt, James has developed strong expertise in Digital Advisory, specialising in data analytics, systems implementation and automation.
James is a key player in delivering Robotic Process Automation solutions and data analytics solutions using UiPath and Power BI/Microsoft Fabric. His grounding as a chartered accountant allows him to bring strong commercial acumen and a clear understanding of clients’ business needs.
James works closely with clients in the not-for-profit, retail and franchise sectors, including supermarket retailers and food retail businesses. Having worked across the retail supply chain, including warehouse distribution, shop floor and duty manager roles, he brings firsthand understanding of supermarket operations and the day-to-day realities faced by owners and management teams.
He helps clients use technology, data and automation to improve efficiency, streamline processes, strengthen reporting and gain deeper business insights. James is passionate about giving time back to clients through practical automation solutions and turning complex data into meaningful insights that support better decision-making.
