Karen Grimson

Karen Grimson was appointed an Associate at BDO Gisborne on 1 July 2025, marking a significant milestone in a career that began over 35 years ago with the firm.

Starting as an office junior, Karen quickly discovered her passion for accounting and pursued her academic studies extramurally, ultimately earning her Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.

Throughout her professional career, Karen has been a highly valued member of the senior management team at BDO Gisborne. She works closely with a core group of clients, offering strategic advice and practical support to help them grow and succeed.

Her approach is grounded in building strong, long-term relationships — ensuring she understands each client’s unique goals and challenges.

Deeply connected to the Tairāwhiti community, Karen is passionate about giving back and has actively supported many local initiatives and causes that are important to her.
