Charles is a Business Advisory Services and Tax Partner at BDO Gisborne with more than fifteen years' experience, specialising in tax consulting and structuring, both in New Zealand and overseas. 

Charles owns a deer, sheep and cattle property.  He has published a number of newspaper articles, and been interviewed on television in relation to the Emissions Trading Scheme, livestock farming and succession.  

Charles consults to a wide range of businesses participating in the primary sector.  He has authored books, publications and presented at national road shows on tax and accounting in the primary sector.

Charles is an adviser to large international food production and processing businesses, and to a large group that owns electricity distribution and generation, sea port and airport assets. He is also an adviser to large and small farming families and Maori authorities involving pre and post settlement issues, and to some of the largest farming entities in New Zealand.
