Aaron Higham

Aaron Higham is an Audit & Assurance Partner at BDO Invercargill, leading the firm’s audit team and providing assurance services to businesses, not-for-profit organisations, charities and public sector entities across Southland and Otago.  

Aaron works with clients on financial statement audits, special-purpose audits, real estate trust account audits, reviews and other assurance engagements. He provides a robust and practical audit process that helps organisations meet their financial reporting and governance obligations while identifying opportunities to strengthen financial systems, controls and processes. 

Aaron brings broad professional audit experience gained across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. He has worked across manufacturing, automotive, retail, financial services, education, unions and the not-for-profit and charitable sectors. He has particular experience with not-for-profit and charitable organisations, as well as a strong interest in working with Māori organisations and businesses. 

Aaron takes a practical and collaborative approach to assurance, taking the time to understand each organisation and the environment in which it operates. Alongside his client work, he contributes to professional development through BDO’s Training Committee and has been involved with the CA ANZ Southland Local Leadership Team.
