What truly sets BDO Whangarei apart is the commitment to actively engage in our community. As part of our pledge to back people in and out of the office we thought it was only fitting to support the Northpower Wild Kiwi, which sees community members participating in challenging and rewarding off-road events.

At BDO, we pride ourselves on being proactive in our approach to employee well-being. If it’s important to our team, it’s important to us too. That’s why in 2018, we were delighted to begin a three year sponsorship of the Wild Kiwi, an event that is enjoyed by many of our team. The Whangarei heads based event boasts views like none other and has event options to suit every ability and lifestyle. Since it launched in 2017, the team at BDO Whangarei have been participating and thoroughly enjoying what the event has to offer. BDO Whangarei partner, Adelle Allbon, says that she loves that the Wild Kiwi is tough, challenging and unique!

The best part about the Wild Kiwi is the camaraderie and how it helps to build motivation, team work and richer relationships within our workplace.

What is most exciting about our involvement this year is the launch of the Northpower Wild Kiwi Scholarship Programme. In partnership with Total Sport and Activ8 Northland, the Scholarship Programme allows 10 people to receive 8 weeks of full training support and free entry to the 8km run / walk at the Northpower Wild Kiwi. The aim is to help some local Northlanders who would not normally participate in the event take part, while improving their fitness and wellbeing along the journey.

BDO Whangarei have proudly donated exclusive goody bags to assist each programme participant to succeed during their training and throughout the event.

BDO Whangarei – “out there doing it”. Taking part and supporting our local community.
