- Christmas Box
The audit team have been involved in setting up the warehouse for packing day for the past several years.
Christmas Box is a charity that gifts a food box to families during Xmas. Since 2001 they have distributed 96,103 Christmas boxes and 480,515 kiwis fed! Boxes reaching families in Auckland, Whangarei, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Melbourne and the Cook Islands.
- Eat My Lunch
The Business Advisory Services team volunteered at Eat My Lunch for their community day. For each lunch purchased, Eat My Lunch will give a lunch to a kiwi kid who would otherwise go without. With a good lunch in their tummies, the kids to better in so many ways from helping them focus on learning to simply putting a smile on their faces. The team contributed to making over 2,000 lunches by 9am then delivered the lunches to the participating schools – that’s loaves and loaves of bread, tubs of coleslaw, packets and packets of ham, boxes of apples and a small treat as well.
Team MC volunteered at one of MOTATS’s storage warehouses with the job of cleaning their established classic car collection.
- Motu Moana Scouts and Piha Surf Lifesaving
The Audit team spent some time with Motu Moana Scouts and Piha Surf Lifesaving, helping the community with some painting and renovation!
- Wairau Valley Special School
The BDO Takapuna office has developed a strong relationship with the transition centre from Wairau Valley Special School. The school caters for the learning and care needs of students with intellectual and physical disabilities between the ages of 5 and 21 from varied backgrounds. The school embraces a holistic approach to learning – celebrating successes at all levels. The BDO team have taken students to the movies, had morning tea and lunch celebrations. The Takapuna office currently has one of the students – Edward – gaining work experience by visiting every Monday morning to prepare morning tea.

- Heart Kids
BDO backs Heart Kids to make a difference to the thousands of families that are facing the challenges of living with a child that has a childhood heart defect. The BDO Auckland and BDO Northland partners got on their bikes to raise much needed money.
Steptember is a charity event that challenges people to take 10,000 steps a day for 28 days in the month of September in support of Cerebral Palsy.
