BDO Partner, Rachel Shoebridge shares how BDO supports cycling right across New Zealand. Our commitment begins with our youngest riders, right through to some of the highest profile events in New Zealand.

Top Training Tips

How's your training coming along? BDO Partner, Doug Haines, shares his top training tips in the run up to the 2018 BDO Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge.

Welcome to the 2018 Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge with BDO

Late last year we were delighted to secure the official naming rights sponsorship of the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge for the next 3 years. BDO is now the largest sponsor of cycling events in New Zealand and the Lake Taupo Challenge sits with our other sponsorships including the Tour of Southland, the Taranaki Around the Mountain Cycle Challenge, Crankworx in Rotorua, the Tour of Northland, the Napier Summer Cycling Carnival, and the East to West Charity Ride.

Each year more than 6,000 cyclists take up the challenge across 14 events on and off road from elite road races, mountains bike events to short distance categories for families and kids.

We are extremely excited to kick the event off on 24 November and want YOU to get involved!

So why not join the BDO Team Challenge?

The BDO Teams Challenge is really simple to be part of. Simply register your team of four (or multiple teams of four) as wanting to take part in the BDO Teams Challenge when you do your event entry. There is no additional charge to enter the BDO Teams Challenge.

The winning team will be the one with the best cumulative time of their first three riders in the team.

As well as a very fine trophy you will walk away with a year’s worth of bragging rights.

Here at BDO we love a good challenge and look forward to donning our lycra and taking part in the team challenge with you all.

You can find more information about the event and how to register at www.cyclechallenge.com.

We will be catching up with teams around the BDO network over the coming months who will give us a sneak peek at their pre-race training schedule and sharing some top tips on how to get race-ready.

We look forward to seeing you in Taupo in November.

Chairman BDO NZ
